« on: June 09, 2004, 10:57:10 AM »
Where I work has only recently set up a chemistry department. As such our literature is v limited.
I am trying to get the boss to get hold of a CRC handbook of chem and phys but thats going to take a few weeks.

In the meantime I need to find the extinction coefficient for

Melatonin (280nm)
copper sulphate

Ive done a websearch but to no avail.

Please help

Thanks

becky

You are indeed correct that libraries are nice place to visit a) if you had your own scientific library on site or b) if the local library stocked crc handbook or the like,

unfortunately in the s. wales valley's they dont have much call for chem books above A-Level standard

Thanks for your "helpful" advice"!

There is no universities near by?
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Yeah, you're not going to get arcane data like that off the net.
I've got nothin'

no universitys particularly close. Would involve having to take a day off to go into the city and by the time I arrange that i may as well wait for the boss to order a copy of the CRC hanbook.

I just wondered if anybody had that info close at hand so that I could progress more quickly ???
