Conical tank level calculation
« on: August 02, 2012, 05:13:51 AM »
Hi! anyone can tell me how to calculate the conical tank level(h) with known variable volume(v)? there is a intake and discharge rate have to consider.

tank volume = 1m3
h = 1.050m
r = 0.9m
intake rate = 30 t/hr
discharge rate = 20 t/hr

for example, how long the tank can hold until the polyethylene pellets with 500kg/m3 fill up to level of 80%?

What is the formula for the volume of a cone?

just use V=1/3*pi*r2*h should be OK

So, what is the volume of the cone you are filling? What is 80% of this?
