ok, I have a question, In a redox reaction, how do you calculate the number of moles of electrons transfered?

You'd calculate it by multiplying the numbers of moles being reduced by the amounts it's being reduced to.

If an oxygen atom is reduced to an oxygen ion (O-2) then there would be two moles of electrons being transferred per one mole of oxygen atoms.

I hope this example is understandable.

so if you have C_2_ that is being oxidized and it goes from a -2 charge to a +2 charge how many electrons are being transfered? What about if you have Cr_2_  that is being oxidized and it goes from a +6 charge to a 0 charge? what if you have both in the same reaction?

Well by how much did the charge change?  If it went from -2 to +2 then it means it has lost 4 electrons.  That means there's a transfer of 4 electrons/C atoms.

So you should be able to figure out the same for Cr.
