Synthesis method of (4-acetylphenyl) acetate
« on: August 29, 2012, 09:34:05 PM »

Hi ^^
my major is organic chemistry : )
Im Beginner !  Help me T.T

how did Synthesis of (4-acetylphenyl) acetate via Friedel-Crafts acylation? (I need specific method T.T)

And how did Synthesis of (4-acetylphenyl) acetate via acylation?

If imposible... another easy method?

This looks like a Fries rearrangement to me followed by acylation of the phenol. have a look here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fries_rearrangement

I suggest you take a trip to you local Uni library and do a literature search, you will find something there I'm sure.
Use the references on the Wiki page as a starting point. Search Organic Synthesis on-line. Check out some of the other chemistry resources on-line you may well find references there.

If your university gives you access to SciFinder or Reaccs, they are very helpful for quickly finding synthetic procedures.
