« on: December 16, 2005, 01:41:02 AM »
This part of my lab course. I did figure out the rest of these questions execpt these following ones...Can someone please help me out...thanks a million

1.)  The titration of 25.00mL of a vingear sample with 0.500/v sodium hydroixde solution required 44.60mL aSSUME THE DENSITY OF THE VINEGAR SAMPLE IS 1.00G mL-1

a) CALCULATE THE NUMBER OF gram-equivalent of acetic acid in the vingear sampple in g-e

b) Calcuate the number of grams of acetic acid in the sample _____grams
c.) If 16 oz of the vinegar cost 53cents, what is the cost per oz of vingear solution? ______cents oz -1

d.) what is the percent acetic acid in the vingear sample?
e.) What is the cost per oz of acetic acid? ________ cents oz-1

2.) If vingear were being purchased on the basis of acetic acid content, which brand of vinegar analyzed would be the most economical??

3.) A vinegar sample contained 4.60% acetic acid. How many mL of 0.450/v sodium hydroixde would be required to titrate 25.00mL of the vingear sample? Assume the density of the sample to be 1.00 g mL-1

4.)What should be the normality of a soidum hydroide solution 25.00mL ARE TO BE USED TO TITRATE 25.00Ml OF A VINGEAR SAMPLE CONTAINING 4.80% ACETIC ACID?
 :gathering:  ??? ???

Start with chemical reaction.

General rule of thumb: Acid + Base -----> Salt + Water

Try to balance the reaction equation. If you have the correct equation the other things are easier than you think. :)
