Help with fluoride compounds
« on: September 22, 2012, 03:49:45 AM »
Hi
If i had two water samples
from the same source, both with a definite value of Sodium
Silicafluoride...and i attempted to convert the Sodium Silicafluoride
in one of the samples into Calcium Phosphate Fluoride
successfully....would you expect to see a change in values in the
levels of Fluoride, Silica, Calcium, Sodium and Phosphate between the
samples? Both the original sample and the altered sample?

Just that the labs i've been asking to do tests of leves of sodium silicafluoride and calcium phosphate fluoride say that they are not able to test for compounds. But if i what i am trying to do actually occurs, i am wondering if the levels of Fluoride, Silica, Calcium, Sodium and Phosphate would change. Because the labs are able to test for those things...

Thanks!!

Totals (inside a vessel) would not change, but if you test water and there is a precipitate formed, some elements can be concentrated in the solid and removed from the liquid.
