Analysis of anthocyanin content in dragon fruit

Hello.

This is my title for my science project. The methods that will be used for this project are extraction by supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), thin layer chromatography and ultra performance lquid chromatography (UPLC).


For the extraction part, it will be done by Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE) which uses carbon dioxide for this purpose. My question is: How do I know that what I extracted is anthocyanin? I mean, how do I confirm that anthocyanin is extracted? Do I have to do phytochemical screening first? Or do I have to do screening test for flavonoid first as anthocyanin is a type of flavonoid.
