Correct Assignment?
« on: November 22, 2012, 10:08:08 PM »
Hi guys,

I have an NMR spectra of my product. It looks pretty clean to my eyes.

I was wondering if you guys thought my assignment was correct! Thanks! :)

It would seem to be ok.
By the way could you post the file, I'd rather not download it.

There we go. But don't you find it weird that my protons HD and HD[sup'[/sup] have significantly different chemical shifts while the same doesn't hold true for protons HB?

Yes maybe!

But do the rest of my assignments look logical? Is the THF assignment logical?!

As I said it looks ok. The THF signals are fine.

It is quite possible that the differences you see are not between HD and HD', but between the HDequatorial and HDaxial. Six-membered rings frequently show fairly large differences between axial and equatorial protons.
