Ads!?

Mitch I had a scare for a second. When I logged out I saw a strip of adds. Then I logged in to see if anyone had said anything about it and POOF! the adds dissapeared. Thank god.
But..
Please do us all a favor and keep ads away. I understand when before you log in. AND PLEASEEEEE no matter what don't use pop-ups. Ads take away from the site. Like full blown adds take away from the site.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned.

Members can't see adds.

I thought about it a lot. But, financially I may need to keep it this way. One click on a google ad was $0.63 cents. Anyways, I'm conducting an experiment for a month and see if google ads can payoff server bills. I'll let you guys know.

No, no pop-ups.  If you're a member you don't see those nasty adsense ads anyways. So, it shouldn't affect anyones forum experience.

The main philosophy change is, I don't believe the non-members should get a free-ride on the forums. If they won't sign up and they use our resources and bandwidth then I'm going to milk them for all the clicks I can get.

$5.34 was max I have seen on one of my sites. But it happened once only. I suppose it will be more like $.3 per click on average.

the silver plan cost US$18/mth.

i wouldn't mind to contribute partially to the annual cost of hosting the website, as long it keeps this website ad-free and the quality of the posts here remains good.

We'll see how the month long experiment goes. I kind of like seeing what ads google will show. If anyone is curious too, just logout and peruse the forum as usual.
