Titration of waste water
« on: December 01, 2012, 11:28:49 AM »
Hi!

I have titrated waste water with 0.1 mol/l HCl and recorded the starting pH as well as pH at the two equivalence points and the volumes of HCl added at the two equivalence points. Can I use this data to tell anything about the species in my wastewater? I suspect that I have some organic acids in there, can I use their pKa to tell if it is true?

Best Regards,
A

Not much. pKa is not very specific.
