Gases: 0.0840 dm3 of a gas is collected by water displacement at 22.0oC

(1/1)

Me-Me:
There are two parts to these two problems.  1.  Name the laws.  2.  Solve the problems.  I must have the correct set-up and answers for credit.

Problems:

1.   0.0840 dm3 of a gas is collected by water displacement at 22.0oC
and 99.8 kPa.  What volume would the dry gas occupy at standard
pressure and 22.0oC?  (water vapor pressure at 22.oC = 2.6 kPa.

2.   A gas volume increases from 50.0 dm3 to 110 dm3 when heated
from 75oC (Pressure constant).  What is the final temperature of
     the gas?

Thank you :)

Use PV = nRT to solve both your problems. Assume you are working with dry gas all the time.

AWK:
Pressure of dry gas for problem 1 is 99.8-2.6 = 97.2 hPa
