« on: January 23, 2013, 04:55:41 PM »
Hi,

Would you tell me what's the proper position of OH group in reaction of addition H2O to cycloalkene?

Thank you in advance

Look up something called Markovnikov's rule or try to figure out which carbocation is going to be more stable upon protonation of 1-methylcyclohexene.

I've just figured it out, Markovnikov's Rule is enough - the second reaction is proper.

Dzięki za pomoc :)
