I'm aware that phenylalanine is an essential amino acid and Undecylenic acid comes from castor oil. But how would I extract the Undecylenic acid from oil then synthesize it with phenylalanine...?

Since this is a forum for helping students, we like to see a little more effort for posters.  Can you use the structure of N-Undecylenoyl L-phenylalanine to offer us an plan to extract and then, cleave the molecule into phenylalanine?
