Nodal plane of pi-orbital
« on: January 25, 2006, 08:28:53 AM »
Two p-orbitals interact to give a pi-orbital and a pi*-orbital.
For pi-orbital, does the plane between the +ve and -ve signs regard as nodal plane?

of course it is a nodal plane
just as it was a nodal plane in the isolated atoms
