I got the idea that it could be NaNO2:
NaNO2+NaN3 :rarrow: Na2O2+2N2
Is this the reaction you had on your mind?

Not quite. If you treat NaNO2 with NaN3 in the presence of HCl(aq) you get N2, NO and NaCl. I'll leave you to balance the equation.
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

I think it's this way:
NaNO2+NaN3+2HCl :rarrow: 3/2N2+NO+2NaCl+H2O

I think it's this way:
NaNO2+NaN3+2HCl :rarrow: 3/2N2+NO+2NaCl+H2O
All coefficients of equation should be integers
