substance that reacts to body temperature
« on: February 16, 2013, 07:04:30 AM »
Hello everybody, this is my first post and I am not really sure if it even belongs here.
I am in a group that wants to manufacture a product that will measures body temperature.
We are looking for a substance that reacts to body temperature, preferably by changing its color.
My question is: is there such a substance that is not toxic and relatively accessible?

Thanks a lot!

This thread here: http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?topic=63806.msg229123#msg229123  asks a similar question.  The answer is is, there are commercially available color-changing or otherwise noticeable reaction chemicals available for purchase.  Also liquid crystal thermometers and many other solutions to this general problem.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
