Hydrolysis of Phosphates
« on: February 28, 2013, 12:57:38 AM »
Hello,

I have been looking for an enzyme that can remove phosphates milk. So far all I could really locate is phosphatases.
I am trying to produce a dairy product for a relative with renal failure. He is not aloud to have phosphates due to his condition.

Are there any edible enzymes that can remove this chemical?

Sorry, we don't give instructions on how to make products for self-medication, for liability reasons.

If such an enzyme existed, a pharmaceutical company would be manufacturing "phosphate-free milk."  You could then buy it, clearing it first with the doctor to see there aren't other problems.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
