reaction boric acid with phosphoric acid
« on: March 06, 2013, 05:59:40 AM »
Hello,

I'm trying to make geopolymers from phosphate. We did this by mixing a phosphoric acid solution with boric acid for 5 minutes and then we added Fayalitic slag. The reaction of phosphoric acid with the iron in the slag shoud take place at a pH of 2 to 6. That's why we added the boric acid my mentor said. I can't figure out how the boric acid does that. Does anyone have ideas on the reactions?

If someone could help me, I would appreciate that very much.
Thanks
