Finding acetic acid content in vinegar
« on: March 10, 2013, 05:39:15 PM »
I am looking for a complex method of finding the acetic acid content in vinegar(other than titration). Does anyone have any suggestions ?
Thanks  :D

That's going to be a tough one, you'll have to think:  what is acetic acid, what else in in vinegar, and what tests could you plausibly do, to differentiate the two.  You'll have to exclude anything that is similar to titration, depending on the assignment.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

There are plenty of HPLC applications for organic acid analyses
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
