I have continued working on my unknown project and I have hit a point where I need outside input.  I am trying to figure out the named reaction mechanism for the synthesis of 2-oxochroman from 3-2-(hydroxyphenyl)-propanoic acid using Ph3P, DEAD, and THF.  I think the named reaction might be the Corey-Nicolaou Macrolactonization but I am unsure.

Is that not the Mitsunobo macrolactonisation?

Hmm.  I believe you are right.  Is that the name of a reaction then?  I am new to named reactions.

Oh that is!  Thank you very much.  Now I have to just finish my presentation.  I can't give you enough snacks for your help.
