This is an ester hydrolysis with sodium hydroxide

OC(C(C)C)=O
and
OC1CCCCC1

After H3O+ treatment they are probably not deuterated.

I just replace the H with D right?

Wait...for product A...the structure you put. I did the exact same thing before and it said it was wrong :(

ACtually I put OD instead of OH at the bottom right for Product A...
You're saying it's supposed to be OH?

Then make them deuterated.
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

Then make them deuterated.

Well I actualy did put OD instead of OH at the bottom right for Product A...
I haven't put in OH though...maybe I should try it.
It's supposed to be right though, right?

I would have thought that using H3O+ would have put a proton there. But obviously not, Make the acid OH and the alcohol OH both into OD

OC(C(C)C)=O

with the OD at the bottom right wasn't right the first time I put it... i think the answer may be with the OH.
But the second structure is right with OD (instead of OH)

Thanks!!
