I know they are both oxidizers, and I am more familiar with H2CrO4, but some texts use Cr2O7. Do they work on both primary and secondary alcohols?

Thank you

Dichromate is not Cr2O7. The charges are incorrect. If you take H2Cr2O7 and add water, what is the result? Sodium or potassium dichromate is what comes in a bottle to be mixed with other reagents.
