Is there any device that can use to measure volume of viscous liquid? use for filling drum or tank.

We used to use a long measuring stick

v = hπr2                   where  π is the value for Pi (~3.14159265359)

Questions confusing. A drum's a constant volume container. Fill it to the top!

Or is there some other concern? Partial filling? Accuracy?

We are also using stick now, but human error happen in very high rate. if got any digital measurement it sound better.

For some liquid we can fill to the top because some of reason. Some of the case we need partial filling also.

Do you know the density of the liquid in the barrel?
I assume you know the total volume of the barrel and its dry weight.
Can you weigh the however filled barrel.

or

maybe handheld sonar device
