Need some help with a few questions
« on: May 11, 2013, 10:06:07 PM »
What volume of 5 M HCl is needed to prepare 0.50 L of a 1.00 M solution ?

Consider the following reaction:

2 SO2 (g)  +  O2 (g)  ↔   2 SO3 (g)  +  heat

with equilibrium constant, K = 4.8 ×10 27 at 250C.

Which statement about this system is not true?
Select one:
a.  At equilibrium SO3 is the predominant substance.
b.  Adding SO2 will cause an increase in the amount of SO3.
c. Heating the system will cause breakdown of SO3.
d. Removing O2 will cause an increase in the amount of SO3.
e. The large numerical value of K means that the reaction essentially goes to completion.
