Converting ibotenic acid to muscimol
« on: May 11, 2013, 09:46:10 PM »
Taking into consideration that the substance will be intended for consumption so toxic solvents are out of the question unless they can be completely removed. The decarboxylation of ibotenic acid will result in muscimol. Boiling can result in this change but it would take several days to convert the acid. Another lead i had was boiling in strong ph water.

I would like to note this is not for self consumption or medication. Its purpose is to serve to produce a method to make foodsafe muscimol.

Hahaha yes i do and in the US there legal :D ibotenic acid is toxic though(or atleast more so than muscimol) so removal/conversion is necessary.
