Which ions are in following dissolution: 0,1 M Na2CO3

I am really lost here.

My atempt:

Na2CO3 + 2 H2:rarrow: H2CO3 + 2NaOH

(I am not that sure if this is correct, but I have tried to do something. I really hope you will help me)

First, seperate the primary ions as if water is not a reactant:

Na2CO3(s)  :rarrow: 2Na+(aq) + CO32-(aq)

Then find the ions that react with water (assuming you are not including aqua-complexes):

H2O(l) + CO32-(aq)  :requil: HCO3-(aq) + OH-(aq)

Thus, there are Na+, CO32-, HCO3-, and OH- ions in solution with a much greater degree of HCO3- and OH- ions than CO32- ions; you can calculate this with the Kb value for CO32-.

First of all thank you for replying.

Does it mean that I have also have to let CO32- react with water?


I am not English, so I didn't get the last part. But I know the that the Kb of CO32- is 10-3,68. What do I have to do with this Kb value? - And is the last part something I have to do or am I finish after I have let it react with water?
