What is the location of the dz^2 orbital in a transition metal in a D4h complex?

as far as I can see it, all d orbitals "begin" from degenerate levels in a free metal atom - then in D4h they rise in energy - with the dz^2 atomic orbital being disturbed the least, so it's, schematically, like this:

      -   dx^2-y^2
      -   dxy
 - dxz  -dyz
      -dz^2

am I right?
