Reaction methods database
« on: July 04, 2013, 01:28:01 PM »
Hi all,

There are reaction databases here and there... but I'm looking for something a bit different... a database that includes methodology and apparatus to achieve various results.  It's one thing to know that H2 + 02 = H2O2, and quite another to produce hydrogen peroxide on your bench top.  It's the "how" of it.

Is there a comprehensive source, preferably a searchable database, perhaps a handbook, of practical lab methods to react a majority of useful compounds?

Thank you!

Reaxys?

Quite a few books that educate about general lab skills.

Not skills.  Specific apparatus/set-ups/methods.  Nothing general about it.  Will such books tell you how to make gasoline from crude oil?

Certainly, the first gasoline was produced on the top of a table in a lab... yes?

Thanks for the Reaxys tip... that's hard core.  I'll have to check into the costs....   I should have said that I was hoping to find something at  no cost :)
