Vitamin C Titration with NBS
« on: July 26, 2013, 05:00:01 AM »
I did a titration of some orange juice to determine its Vitamin C or Ascorbic Acid (AA) content with N-bromosuccinimide (NBS). I made a standard solution of AA and found concentration of NBS, then used the NBS to find the concentration of AA in 5mL of orange juice.
I then calculated the AA in the orange juice as mg/100mL.
but i got 117mg/100mL!?
which is way too much, so could you review my stoichiometry calculations to see where i went wrong?
