Sun sensitivity
« on: September 05, 2013, 10:17:25 AM »
Hello all.
For my science project, i need a chemical that bubbles up when exposed to light or heat.
Sort of like when you put alka seltzer in water.
I kind of need my reply quick and fast.
Thanking all in advance.

Do you have any ideas yourself of what this chemical might be?

It should react on very little heat or light.
It needs to bubble up like alka zeltzer in water.
The container is a little plastic squirt er,sort of what you will take a medicine in.
I have no idea what the chemical is

I can't really see how this can be achieved at all, let alone safely enough for a science project.

I think its not the answer.  And no, I don't think there's an easy way to get it.  Or a safe way.  And its not cheep, that's for sure.

So, how is it a project?  You're not learning anything at all.  You assign random properties, to something that may not exist, and ask other people to find it for you.  That's hardly work, at all.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

Mercury is toxic (very toxic in some chemical forms).  I suggest a reboot.  Perhaps you could tell us what you were assigned to do.
