PES-UF Membrane
« on: September 25, 2013, 04:34:05 AM »
Dear Concerned,

This one is directly from laboratory.

We are trying to block PES Ultra filtration membrane for particular application after completion of the process. Then we want to unblock the same membrane for next application.

Both the processes are part of UF process of waste water in villages.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

regards
Sachin

As I am not fully familar with your process I cannot really give any specific advice but it sounds to be that some sort of valve would be what you want.

Hi,

Greetings.

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the time spent.

I am precisely talking about blocking the tip of the PES membrane to avoid capillarity of the glue which we are using in our UF filter. Glue we are using is Poly-urethane. Now we are using a chemical to avoid this capillarity, but this technique of blocking is very much crude and once blocked, we need to cut the part of blocked membrane to get working part of membrane unblocked. This leads to high wastage of membrane.

I would be happy to know if any one of you come up with the solution to avoid capillarity of Poly-urethane into PES Membrane either by suggesting

1. New glue instead of poly-urethane which has less capillarity
2. New blocking technique  in the tip of PES membrane to avoid capillarity
3. A blocking chemical which we can used to block, then can be removed by using other chemical or water(this will be the best option, as the membrane are used for purification of water).

Let me know. Thank you.

regards
Sachin
