Some anaerobic bacteria use other oxidizing agents, such as SO4-, NO3-, or Fe3+, in placce of O2 as an energy source. One such half-reaction is
FeO(OH)(s) + HCO3-(aq) + 2H+(aq) + e- ---> FeCO3(s) + 2H2O(l),
for which E° = +1.67 V. What mass of FeO(OH) will produce the same change in Gibbs energy as would 1.00g of O2?
