Day old butyllithium
« on: November 14, 2013, 10:01:37 AM »
Hi,
I just wonder if I can still use day old butyllithium solutions as anionic polymerization initiator? There are salts precipitated in the bottom already. Can I still get some polymer?

Chemistry is an experimental science, try it and see.
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

You could always titrate it if you really want to know what's left...  but yeah, just trying it might be easier.
