anybody know the chemical name for "noori" which is used to bleaching paper

this chemical is white powder. basically it comes packed in plastic bags without any label and used for bleaching the pulp in handmade paper factories.

How does the solution smells. Bleaching chemical either based on Peroxide compounds like sodium peroxodisulfat, sodium perborate, etc. or Chlorine compounds like sodium hypochlorite, etc.
