I mean - how would you read and pronounce a statement like "6 M solution" - "six molar solution"?

Yes, I would definitely call something labeled '6 M' -- six molar.  It would be too easy to confuse '6 emm' and '6 en' in casual conversation.  Particularly in a lab, with hood fans, other conversations, etc.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
