compound naming
« on: February 15, 2014, 09:37:42 AM »
Name the compound in the picture below:
Attempt: Iso-isatin
I wouldn't usually post a question like this but I'm struggling to research the question I'm on without the name of the reagent.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is that a Z or a N?
If it's N then you have a phthalimido function.
O=C(N1)C2=CC=CC=C2C1=O
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

Thank you so much for your reply. It's an N, I just couldn't rotate image on my phone.
