How Do I Write Benzene in a Condensed Structual Formula?
« on: March 04, 2014, 08:38:24 PM »
How would I write Benzene in a condensed structural formula? For example: 2,3-dibromobenzene.

This is my first topic! Thanks to everyone who answers.

do you mean draw the structure out? or write it as CxHyBrz?
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!

Not quite. I'm talking about putting lets say "2,2,3-trimethylpentane" into ---> (CH3)3CCHC(CH3)CH2CH3 . Not sure how to do this with Benzene though.

C6H4Br2? But this does not indicate the isomers,

1,2-C6H4Br2
or ortho-C6H4Br2
