Dear All,

Apart from KMnO4, can alkaline H2O2 be used to effect oxidation of C=C
at room temp ?
If yes, what are the ideal reaction conditions, catalysts, yields, precautions ?
Any journal references ?
Thanks in advance,
jmarjorie

You tend to get epoxides from that kind of reaction, not the C-C bond cleavage products you get with permanganate.  The epoxidation reaction with H2O2 is relatively slow when it comes to unactivated alkenes.
