Cytochrome P450
« on: March 17, 2014, 05:05:03 PM »
Hello,

I have been taught that cyclohexyl is a functionality prone to metabolic degradation by CYP 450 and that smaller sturdy groups such as cylopentyl and cyclobutyl are often used as replacements which are more metabolically resilient yet I struggle to find an explanation.

Does anyone know why?

Thanks,

Nescafe.

Are you talking about hydroxylation or some other chemical reaction?
