Can I break down other metals from gold plating using salt water?

Hello there I have a bunch of gold plated pins and components that I extracted off old computers, I was wondering if I put the before mentioned gold plated components in salt water and wait for the other metals to rust will it work, and will the gold plating be disolved in the salt water?

Try - after all, chemistry is an experimental science.

But I doubt it will work this way.
