redox reaction carbon dioxide - formaldehyde
« on: May 01, 2014, 08:20:08 AM »
hey fellows!

is this a correct reaction:

CO2 + 4H+ + O2 = CH2O + 2H20

with its half reaction:

1.) CO2 + 4e- + 4H+ = CH2O + H2O
2.) 2H2O = O2 + 4e- + 4H+

thanks a lot

best regards

Try adding the two half-reactions and see what you get.

no no:)
I got it:

CO2+H2O = CH2O + O2

did I?
