interpreting article data
« on: May 05, 2014, 03:22:03 PM »
Hi guys, Im in need of little help:
This article is quoted in my textbook
Geometric and Electronic Structures of Manganese-Substituted Iron
Superoxide Dismutase
Timothy A. Jackson, Craig T. Gutman, James Maliekal, Anne-Frances Miller,
and Thomas C. Brunold
Inorg. chem., 52, 3356-3367 (2013)

And because the textbook is brand new we were encouraged to find mistakes etc. which could be corrected if future print. Anyway, the textbook says, that the hydroxo ligand is substitued by superoxide as a first step of catalytic mechanism.

Because I have other sources, which says that the mechanism is different, ie. that the OH- ligand is not substitued.
Anyway, I read the article but I cant find any claims that ubstitued. However I cant find any claims in that article that says so. But Im not realy sure If I didnt miss it or just cant interpret the data.
So if you can find spare time, can you check this article and post your thoughts on this topic?
Thank you
