Shape nitrogen in amines prefers to adopt

Hi, I am having a hard time figuring out this question. Hope someone can help.

"The nitrogen in amines can be either trigonal planar or pyramidal. State which shape it prefers to adopt and why."

You need to show some working out... start by counting the electrons and go from there
