How to make silver 5,5-dimethyl hydantoin? I need to make it.
I found this in an article:
silver is added as a preformed complex formed by the reaction of silver oxide with hydantoin, or with a substituted hydantoin, such as 5,5-dimethyl-hydantoin, as appropriate.

What is better to use? Silver nitrate or silver oxide? How much am I need to use from each?
If I dissolve 5,5-dimethyl hydantoin in water and I add silver nitrate or silver oxide, silver 5,5-dimethyl hydantoin will form? And what else?

I was waiting for you guys for a long time to help me, but I think I found the answer. Now please help me to understand it:
"Silver 5,5-dimethyl-hydantoinate: 12.3 g 5,5-dimethyl-hydantoin and 4.2 g NaOH is dissolved in 150 ml purified water. 16.3 g AgNO3 dissolved in 50 ml purified water is added slowly with stirring. The suspension is left with stirring for 2h and filtered. The white solid is resuspended in 200 ml purified water, stirred for 2h, filtered, washed with acetone and dried."
Do you think this is the right way to make it?
In here: "The suspension is left with stirring for 2h and filtered." How can I filter it?
At this step the silver 5,5-dimethyl hydantoin will be dissolved in water? Later I need to dissolve it in water, so can I skip this final step?
How much (grams) silver 5,5-dimethyl hydantoin will be dissolved in the water?

You mix the compounds and after two hours you get probably some form of precipitate which you fillter using some method of filtration. Then resuspend in water, stirr, filter and wash with acetone.
I guess the solibility of this compound in water is low so you suspend it in water to dissolve unreacted umpurities which might have precipitated together with your product.
I dont think much of your compound will be dissolved, you resuspend it in water which means it will not dissolve.

Why are you making this compound? It looks to me that you miss some basic knowledge
