Q Preparation of acetone

Hello
I have in the house alcohol 2-propanol and I want to Attend acetone I got to bring copper handle Old I had and you heating it until the redness and put the handle after being heated in the alcohol and find alcohol boiled until it stops boiling and turns copper black to red, "where I am as soon as the Increase of red copper on the fire prevail, "which shows a reaction, but I find that the resulting smell is still the smell of alcohol

The catalytic dehdrogenation of isopropanol to acetone requires, as I understand it, different reaction conditions.  See this reference:  http://www.owlnet.rice.edu/~ceng403/gr1998/acetone.html

That's alright, we like to help.  That reference is really for a large scale application.  Any other hear source would do, but still -- you need high temp, high pressure, and the ability to recycle nu-reacted isopropanol, while still pulling off acetone.  Not an easy method.
