Which Competiting Reaction Is Favoured?
« on: June 19, 2014, 11:25:19 AM »
So I'm trying to figure out which reactions competing for same reactant is heavily favored or nearly equally favored. For example:

3NaHSO3 + NaClO3 -> NaCl + 3NaHSO4
vs
NaHSO3 + HOCl -> HCl + NaHSO4

What would be the steps to approach this problem assuming the reactants are of equal concentration initially? What database is good for getting constant values that may be relevant to this?

Two different equations. Both will work I think. But both has nothing to do each other.
