*nH2O in chemical formula
« on: June 23, 2014, 08:05:33 AM »
I'm reading some chemical formulas of a few molecules, and they are written as something like this:

Ca8H2(PO4)6*5H2O

Or (same compound, /2):

Ca4HO12P3

What's the meaning of that *5H2O bit?
