About DDQ

DDQ is an oxidizing agent and H acceptor. Do you think the aromatization of the DDQ is the driving force of this behavior?

Also it is normally used to oxidize non aromatics to aromatics (or at least conjugated) compounds. As a redox reaction, both potentials (oxidation and reduction reaction) must be taken in account.
