Chemistry lab help entering numbers into chart with data.
« on: September 18, 2014, 03:52:04 AM »
How do I setup the problem to fill out my chart? I missed class and I'm lost. For both trail 1 & 2, I need:

*mass of water (Mwater)
Change in Temp for Water (Change x Twater)
Change in Temp for Metal (Change x Tmetal)
Specific Heat of water (Swater)
Heat Exchanged by Water (Qwater)
Heat Exchanged by Metal (Qmetal)
Specific Heat of Meat (Smetal)

Also I need to answer the following questions:

1. Calculate the average specific heat of your metal:
2) Identify your metal using the table given:

Here is picture of DATA:

Temperature change is always Tfinal-Tinitial.

Specific heat of water must be listed in the book. If not, just google the value.

There is a well known equation specifying amount of heat exchanged, it must be in the book. It combines heat, mass, specific heat and ΔT.
