Hello!

The nitro ligand is high spin and so absorbs light of longer wavelength. The nitrito ligand is low spin and so absorbs light of shorter wavelength. Then why is nitro isomer yellow-orange and nitrito isomer red? It does not make sense to me. Perhaps there is some other factor besides lingand field that causes this? Please *delete me*

Thank you
